Amethyst is a gemstone that has long been associated with balance, especially emotional balance. We get the word "Amethyst" from Greek. "Methystos" is a Greek word for storm. "Amethystos" literally means "remove the storm", but can also be interpreted as "remove the toxication". Since ancient times this gemstone has been used to help balance, calm and purify.
